Now days, almost everyone owns or has
access to a cell phone. This has led the majority of people to rely on texting
as a source of communication. It is and easy and convenient way to keep in contact
with others. By using the widely known text abbreviations, you can say a lot just
with a few short words. It is amazing how advanced technology has made it
possible for people you know to simply be a click away from a button.
Although, texting is a convenient
method of communication it is harming our society. Texting is causing many driving related
accidents. Many young people tend to text while they drive. This distracts them
from keeping their eyes on the road and often causes them to crash. Not only
are they putting their own life at risk but the lives of innocent people as
well. Texting is also affecting many relationships.
A lot of them now rely on texting as their main source of communication, rather
than phone calls. This is a problem because relationships should be based on getting
to know one another at a deeper level; with texting you simply can’t do that.
Texting prevents you from having long personal conversations. Another texting related issue being seen today
among relationships is the sharing of inappropriate pictures from young girls
to their boyfriends. Texting such intimate picture is risky since they are more
likely to become public. Texting is convenient but can be harmful and even
dangerous if it is not used wisely.
great essay!

ReplyDeleteI like how you compared texting to relationships; It was very unique and I totally see what are you talking about. I used the texting against driving and how it causes injuries. This is my first blog comment I’m hoping people used different ideas about texting. Thanks for blog.
DeleteI agree texting can lead to your personal information getting leaked on the web if you aren't carful.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh I so agree with the issue of girls sending inappropriate pictures. They don't respect themselves and are't thinking.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, you can't get to know someone on a deeper level through texting.
ReplyDeleteTexting is become such a normal yet impersonal form of communication. It makes everything easier for us that we forget how to really communicate with our friends, family and loved ones. In getting to your point about "Deeper Level" im realizing that im nowadays being so impersonal that my mom says "Quit texting me and call me, I wanna here your voice". Its a sign of the times I guess. Does anyone remember texting with buttons, lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree texting is harming society.
ReplyDeleteIt really has affected the society with this new technology. What we need now is to have real communication where we hear each other out and learn from one another.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, cell phones are a harm to society!! and extremely dangerous when texting and driving!
ReplyDeleteI am for sure a person who relies on texting as communication.
ReplyDeleteTexting, from what I have looked at, can be risky. The further we go into the future, texting will just become more complicated if we do not do so in a convenient matter.
