Past , Present, & Future

Hello, My name is Dennys Carranza . I’m the eldest of three siblings. I have two younger brothers and no sisters. I was born and raised in the city of Oxnard. My family is very close so I grew up surrounded by many of my relatives.  I was raised in a very traditional Hispanic home. That being said, my parents have always tried to expose me to their culture and traditions. They have also tried to educate me with good morals and values. While I was young I loved to play outside with my friends and  I always found myself drawing  at any  opportunity I had. I attended Cesar Chavez and Rio Real elementary. During my time in elementary I had tough time learning English as my second language because I had no one at home that I could practice with, since my parents only spoke Spanish. When I became fluent in English I felt very accomplished and proud of myself for finally becoming bilingual. My childhood wasn’t very easy especially when I was diagnosed with asthma. It was very hard for me to accept that I wasn’t as healthy as other children. It was very upsetting to me to see other children run without a problem while I struggled for air when I tried doing so. Later on in my life I attended Rio del Valle middle school and then eventually attended Rio Mesa High School. I graduated from Rio Mesa in 2009. After graduating high school I decided to be the first in my family to attend community college so I made the decision to enroll in Ventura College.
I am currently 22 years old. I attend Oxnard College and I work part-time in a grocery store in Oxnard.  I am attending school to major in nursing. I own a dog named Elmo, who I adore and love very much. I’m truly blessed to have three very important individuals in my life which include my cousin Julie, my best friend Yuri, and my boyfriend Giovanni. They have always been by my side during times of struggles. They know me so well that they know exactly what to say in order to make me feel better when I’m feeling a little down. I am very thankful to have parents who have supported and encouraged me to go to college so that I can become a better person. I enjoy listening to music and spending time with my loved ones whenever possible. I consider myself a very shy person. I dislike speaking in front of a large audience. I am currently attending school to major in nursing.
My dream f is to someday become a registered nurse. I want to help those individuals that are not blessed with complete health so that they can to live a happy and fulfilling life. I plan to travel to different parts of the world since I haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet. Most importantly I someday wish to have a family of my own.
